After an intense interview weekend and series of long hours deliberation, the Indonesian Youth Diplomacy team is excited to announce Indonesia's official delegates to the 2019 Y20 Summit in Tokyo, Japan

Hanny Edwanda Chrysolite is a sustainable development practitioner, by passion and profession. She has been working for World Resources Institute (WRI) Indonesia since October 2016 as a Research Analyst for Climate and Low Carbon Development Initiative. At WRI, she has published several publications on how Indonesia could be more ambitious in its climate change target and mainstream that target into other development sectors. Under the Low Carbon Development Initiative, she also supported the Government of Indonesia, both national and local governments, to integrate sustainable policies into medium-term and long-term goals.

Previously, Hanny worked at WRI Global Office in Washington D.C., where she developed global climate data tracking platform to enhance transparency in countries’ climate data reporting. Prior to WRI, she held several research positions at University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, Washington as well as at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.

Hanny is also involved in various youths’ forums, as a planning committee for Alumni Muda Para Navigator Group and as a co-initiator of Clean Energy Millennials, a forum to increase youths’ knowledge on Indonesia’s energy issues.

Hanny earned her bachelor’s in science degree from Cornell University, majoring in Natural Resources. 

In between work and organization’s involvement, Hanny tries to find time to explore new hiking trails or new coffeeshops.

Michael Victor Sianipar is a personal aide to the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara Province, the Political Director of Patra Government Relations, and Head of the Jakarta Regional Branch of the Indonesian Solidarity Party. He has been involved in politics and government for seven years and is now dividing his roles primarily in Jakarta and West Nusa Tenggara. Previously, he was a personal aide to Governor Ahok of Jakarta Province from 2012 to 2017. He began as campaign assistant in 2012, before becoming a permanent aide in Jakarta City Hall. Throughout the years, he handled various portfolios in the government, ranging from budgeting, government transparency, corruption eradication, internship program, district-level management, personnel management, to the development of Jakarta Smart City.   

In 2017-2018, his team supported five gubernatorial candidates in provincial elections, of which four eventually won. Michael is now involved in developing teams of technocrats to support the governors’ daily operations. In the Indonesian Solidarity Party, he is also in charge of the Party’s election strategy, candidate recruitment, and preparation for the legislative election in 2019. He has promoted public political financing in all elections he has been involved in. 

Michael graduated from Yonsei University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations. Michael is also a recipient of the Alumni Appreciation Award from Yonsei University, awarded in 2015, as one of two alumni who contributed the most for the past 10 years and whose work continue to reflect the University’s values.
