Indonesian Delegation to the Y20 Summit 2013

1. Andhyta Firselly Utami - Head of State

Andhyta Firselly Utami is currently a scholar of Temasek Foundation at the Nanyang Technological University while finishing her thesis to obtain an undergraduate degree from Universitas Indonesia, majoring in International Relations.  She has directed numerous international and national MUNs such as the Asia Pacific MUN Conference 2012 in Melbourne where she was the youngest director from Asia. 

Additionally, she was appointed as the Faculty Advisor of Universitas Indonesia to Harvard National MUN 2012 as well as the Director General of Indonesia MUN 2012.

Her off campus involvement include being the co-founder of the Indonesian Future Leaders, where she was Program Manager for two years. She has also led a team of over 100 students in the Southeast Asia-wide Social Science Olympiads in 2011. She took part in the Open Government movement by President’s Delivery Unit for Monitoring and Oversight (UKP-PPP) as well as Energy Efficiency and Conservation Clearing House Indonesia (EECCHI) under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia.  Andhyta also holds a long list of accomplishments, including the 3rd Prize of International Essay Contest for Young People 2012 by UNESCO and GOI Peace Foundation and the Runner-up of Faculty’s Most Outstanding Student 2012.

Andhyta believes that taking the duty of Indonesia’s Head of State to Y20 Summit 2013 will test her academic expertise as well as leadership quality in an entirely new, far more challenging stage—driven primarily by her objective to prove that Indonesian youth can really make a global impact. @Afutami

2. Ari Jahja - Minister of Economic and Finance

Ari Jahja is currently a Vice President at Credit Suisse Equity Research, focusing on the U.S. Pharmaceuticals sector. He joined the New York office in July 2008 after graduating with a BBA in Finance & Investments (Summa Cum Laude) from Baruch College- Zicklin School of Business. 

Prior to studying in New York, Ari grew up in Jakarta and attended the Mahatma High School. In addition to global health care, he has a strong interest in Emerging Markets development. Ari has a vision of Indonesia becoming the prime investment destination in Asia. Outside of work, Ari enjoys mentoring, traveling, playing guitar, running, and watching soccer. He was part of the Indonesian delegation to the Y20 Summit Russia in 2013. @Ari_Jahja

3. Dito Krista - Minister of Environment

Vincentius Dito Krista Holanda is a final-year undergraduate student at Institut Teknologi Bandung, majoring in Chemical Engineering. While expecting to graduate this year, he is currently working as a summer analyst at the Boston Consultant Group, Jakarta. An avid thinker and green economist by design, he firmly believes that economic development can and must go hand-in-hand with environmental sustainability.

His passion in sustainable development led him to represent Indonesia in Y20 Mexico 2012, the G20 youth event under Mexican presidency, and gain international recognition as Bayer Young Environmental Envoy 2012 in partnership with United Nations Environment Programme. Outside campus, Dito is actively involved in Young Leaders for Indonesia (YLI) founded by McKinsey to unleash Indonesian youths’ potentials. 

Aside from deep interest in renewable energy, Dito also possesses wide-ranging passion in business, economy, international affairs, and philosophy. His lifetime yearning in parliamentary debating brought him to World University Debating Championship twice in Botswana (2011) and the Philippines (2012). He has also won several awards in business competitions, such as ASEAN Champion of P&G ASEAN Business Challenge 2011, Runner-Up in Accenture Gives 2012, and 2nd Runner-Up of Danone TRUST 2012.

The Y20 Russia 2013 would be his third international forum after representing ITB in Harvard National Model of United Nations (HNMUN) 2011 in Boston and becoming the Indonesian delegate for One Young World (OYW) 2011 in Zurich.

As the Minister of Environment, he seeks to combine all his technical prowess and experience in sustainable development with practical leadership to advance his framework for Indonesia’s green growth. @ditokrista

4. Awidya Santikajaya - Minister of Development

Awidya Santikajaya is a first year PhD student at the Asia-Pacific College of Diplomacy, Australian National University (ANU). His research focuses on comparative foreign policies of emerging powers. He holds a master degree in international economics and Southeast Asian politics from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) Johns Hopkins University and bachelor in economics from University of Indonesia (cum laude).

Awidya has distinctive academic and professional achievements. As a student, he has presented papers in numerous international conferences, including the 5th Viennese Conference on Southeast Asia Studies in Austria and the Southeast Asian Studies Graduate Student Conference in Seattle. He has published more than 30 op-eds articles in mass media in both Indonesian and English, four journal articles, two book chapters, and is currently writing a book chapter on Indonesia-China relations. Awidya has also won more than six national writing competitions, indicating his excellent analytical skills.

Professionally, he is an Indonesian diplomat, who started working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2007. He served as a staff of the Directorate General of America and Europe where he helped prepare for policy recommendations, papers, speeches, drafts of MoU/agreement, and other documents on various negotiations. His remarkable profile made him awarded scholarships from high-profile institutions, such as the Clingendael Institute, the US-Indonesia Society and the World Bank.

By becoming Indonesia’s Minister of Development in the upcoming G20 Youth Summits, he is seeking for the opportunity to contribute his diplomatic and academic experiences to help shape a new architecture of development cooperation. 

5. Chandra Jinata - Sherpa

Chandra Jinata is currently a Doctor of Philosophy student in Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine at The University of Hong Kong under the University’s Postgraduate Scholarship, focusing on applied molecular evolution. He previously finished his Master of Philosophy study in Bioengineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology under a fellowship scheme and graduated from Microbiology Undergraduate Study Program, School of Life Sciences and Technology, Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia, where he was selected as the Most Outstanding Student in the program. During college, he also participated in two fully-funded student exchange programs at the Young Scientist Exchange Program at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan with Japan Student Service Organization Scholarship and joined Leadership Enrichment and Regional Networking Program at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore under Temasek Foundation Scholarship. He is generally interested in how science and technology are developed and translated to benefit general society.

Starting from the Y20 Summit 2013, Chandra has been learning more about interdisciplinary knowledge related to global issues and how to alleviate the challenges. Regarding his involvement in IYD, he is now taking charge of the Y20 Summit 2017 Selection. - @chandra28288
