Delegate recruitment for Y20 India 2023 is Now Open

Five candidates will be selected as the official Indonesian delegates to the Y20 Summit 2023 in India.

The priority agenda for the Y20 Summit 2023 are:

  • Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation & 21st Century Skills

  • Shared Future: Youth in Democracy and Governance

  • Peacebuilding and Reconciliation: Ushering in an Era of No War

  • Health, Wellbeing & Sports: Agenda for Youth

  • Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction: Making Sustainability a Way of Life

There is a no better chance to be the voice for Indonesian youths and represent them at the G20 than the Y20 India 2023 summit, where you can serve as our country's delegates and support the G20 presidency! We encourage applications from all professional and academic backgrounds. We particularly encourage applications from women, disabled, and minority ethnic candidates.

Here are the recruitment process details:

Eligibility criteria:

  • An inspirational young Indonesian citizen (undergraduate/graduate student*, recent graduate, young professional) from either the public, private, and/ or civil society sectors;

  • Be aged between 18 and 30;**

  • Be fluent in English (speaking, writing, and reading);

  • Have strong academic, professional, or volunteering experience and deep knowledge of the priority area;

  • Have demonstrated their capacity in a leadership role;

  • Have a strong interest in foreign policy and/or global issues;

  • Understand global problems with a multicultural perspective;

  • Be able to attend and commit to the Y20 Summit and online preparation.

*Undergraduate students are strongly encouraged to apply. There will be at least one delegation spot allocated for undergraduate student ** Subject to change based on Y20 India requirement

Selection process:

The application selection process consists of two stages. The first stage involves the submission of a CV, a motivation letter, a technical essay on one of the five priority agendas, and a short video explaining your main proposal in the essay (2 minutes duration, no editing allowed). The top 25 applicants will proceed to the second stage of selection, consisting of an open discussion session and a final interview.

The submitted files should abide by the following criteria:

  • CV 

    • Times New Roman, size 12, single space

    • Structure and contents should follow the format provided by IYD

  • Motivation Letter

    • Maximum 500 words, Times New Roman, size 12, single space

    • Contents should answer the prompts provided by IYD, for details see the Application Form below

  • Essay

    • Maximum 800 words, Times New Roman, size 12, single space

    • Contents should answer the prompts provided by IYD, for details see the Application Form below

  • Short video

    • Content should show applicant explaining key arguments of their essay in a succinct manner

    • Maximum 2 minutes, recorded in landscape orientation with no cutting or editing allowed

    • Uploaded to cloud service, e.g. Google Drive, with appropriate sharing settings
